Jay, as usual you are right on the mark. You’ve got the inside scoop too, so I’d say you have a better perspective than most. You know, I think this is definitely in play with what I was thinking: Was I also worried about what others would say, especially because this is “round two” and I already know what others thought about “round one”? I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t.
On the other hand, I’ve had friends who I’ve had to defend in the past. Does that mean it was the wrong decision to be that person’s friend? I wouldn’t say so. I think we all fail at being what we want to be … and in moments like that we need advocates. :)

Defending people is not always a bad thing. However, the fact that all of my friends would say WTF? if I showed up at a BBQ with a 22-year old in tow keeps me from dating a 22-yeard old. LOL
