While Moxie may be right that “most men” feel this way about phone calls and emails, there are also those who feel like the OP does and would like to spend more time emailing and talking on the phone before meeting. I don’t know what percentage of men are like that, but there must be a fair amount. Some online dating sites appear to do pretty well with that very concept, like e-harmony. Perhaps trying a different online dating site might yield different results.

Just a thought.

I go back and forth on this — I think there’s a happy medium. I’d like to know at least enough to have a sense if conversation between us is going to flow easily or be awkward and stilted, so that I need to do some more time prepping for the date, having things in mind to discuss.
